ONE MONTH!

The first month is now over - it's such a cliche, but time sure does fly! We are all getting to know each other better, learning about Lauren's cranky times of day, etc. Caleb is a little angel and never complains about how loud she can be, but he often covers his ears when Lauren wails and offers the suggestion,"Maybe she's hungry?".

Here is Lauren in the very first girlie outfit we ever received, shortly after the ultrasound that confirmed she was a girl, from Auntie Adah. That's a thick little midsection she has, isn't it?

By request, here are some pics of her nursery - pink and chocolate brown themed - designed by mom and lovingly painted by dad:

A shot of Lauren's rapidly growing wardrobe (with tons of hand-me-downs from Rachael!)

Even her carseat matches the pink and brown theme with a pretty cover from Auntie Adah:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM OUR LITTLEST TURKEY!

Mmm, blueberries!

Lauren's days are spent hanging out on a pillow or on the couch (love her sleeper with the ballet slipper toes - a hand-me-down from cousin Rachael!)

Look at how big Lauren looks in regular clothes!

Ok, I think I'm warm enough now!

I have been a little lazy about posting lately - compared to Caleb's first few weeks, there is relatively little information here about baby Lauren! As I am sensitive to the stereotypical neglect of second children, I thought it was time I posted something about our littlest angel.

Lauren has been a very easy baby, only crying when hungry or poopy (however, she does eat about 10 times and poops at least 6-8 times a day!). Her appetite is steadily growing, and she was up to 8 pounds, 4 ounces at her 10 day old baby appointment. Her weight puts her in the 55% percentile, and in the length category she is at 80%. Another long and lean baby! At night, Lauren tends to have a very awake period between 10-midnight, after which she sometimes gives mom a 4 hour stretch of sleep!

It has been wonderful having po po here for several weeks, and also gung gung for the past week... I'm not sure who will miss them the most when they leave on the weekend - mom and dad appreciate the cooking and help with the kids, Caleb has really enjoyed playing with them both, and Lauren has gotten used to being picked up the minute she opens her mouth to complain!

Our little night owl

Po po is here to spoil Lauren and Caleb, and to make her healing soups for the tired mom!

Caleb loves his little sister, and will ask to "take care of her", which means he wants us to put her on his lap. He is very sweet with her!

Lauren in a rare awake moment.

Since we were so busy we weren't able to take Caleb trick-or-treating, but we brought out a box of old Halloween stuff and let him try on some of mom and dad's old costume pieces. His favorite was the pirate eyepatch.
